New Historical Inequality Research: Knowledge, Discourses, Practices in Western Europe and the World in the 20th/21st Century


Abstract


The research project consists of two subprojects that aim to contribute to the overarching theme of innovative historical inequality research from different perspectives, including the history of knowledge and praxeology. The sub-theme “A. Cultures of Inequality” is dedicated to the history of knowledge of economic inequality in the Federal Republic of Germany and also aims to develop comparative and transnational perspectives on the history of knowledge of economic inequality in Western Europe. The sub-theme “B. Body Language and Social Difference” aims to develop a global cultural history of social distance and other forms of non-verbal communication.
