Geo.X Olabisi Badmos: Developing an agent-based model to predict shrinkage and expansion of slums in Lagos megacity
In 1984, the Lagos state government identified 42 slum communities in Lagos and by 2016 some of them have transitioned to relatively well planned communities, while the others persisted as slum communities. I am currently investigating how different stakeholders, government, slum dwellers and civic societies, influence these changes. The result of the investigation will serve as a background to develop an agent-based model to predict shrinkage and expansion of slums in Lagos.
