MELA-Screen: Development of an optical system for a 3D whole body examination for the implementation of a routine-suitable and automated screening for skin cancer screening

Development of a medical device that raises skin cancer screening to a qualitatively new level. It is based on an optical system consisting of a hyperspectral camera supplemented by a high-resolution stereo camera and a DLP projector. The skin surface is automatically analysed in a self-contained device system as part of a 3D whole-body examination. The focus is on the identification of potentially risky skin pigments and their monitoring over time.
The HU share focuses on the optical components and algorithms for image data processing.
