International Workshop on Fundamentals of Light-Matter-Interaction (Event)

The workshop aims to introduce and discuss current trends in the field of fundamental interactions between light and matter. It brings together 18 internationally leading experts who will report on their recent results. At the same time participation of younger researchers is highly encouraged with the goal to introduce them to cutting-edge research and to tighten their links with the scientific community in the field of fundamental optics.

A further aim of the workshop is to intensify arleady existing collaborations and to seed joint efforts for novel research projects. The exchange of personnel (students, postdocs, senoir researchers) is the very basis of this purpose.

The workshop will cover the following scientific topics:

1) Single quanta of light and matter

2) Coherent phenomena in complex systems

3) Light-matter-interaction on the nanoscale.
