Organisational analysis of SEBD special schools

The status of special schools for children and youth with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties in Germany is examined.

The study combines quantitative and qualitative research methods.
In a complete national survey the structural elements and the organisational compositions of the schools were examined. The findings reveal some serious structural problems of SEBD schools.

In a second step, a representative sample of SEBD schools will be examined, regarding their pedagogical and therapeutic conceptualisations and the effects on pupils' outcomes.
