Optical properties of silver clusters and their complexes with biomolecules at surfaces III


The aim of this project is to provide the theoretical basis for design of efficient photoemittors using supported silver clusters and silver cluster-biomolecule hybrid systems as building blocks. For this purpose we will investigate the interplay between cluster size, structure and the nature of the support sites and its impact on the photoabsorption and photoemission properties of silver clusters at MgO (pure and doped by impurity atoms) and of silvertryptophan hybrid systems at MgO and TiO2 surfaces.
