The project offers financial means to organize bilateral seminars between the Law Faculties of Humboldt University and their partner universities in Central and Eastern Europe. The faculty members secure professional help on a high level. Each subject has chosen a spokesperson, who keeps contact to the responsible university teachers of the partner university.

The advantage of the program is to give students the opportunity to organize and carry out a scientific meeting from hotel reservation up to preparation of one s own theoretical contribution. Since 1996 this program is a solid component of the advanced study s syllabus. All students of a group deal with a common and basic topic. Questions of comparative law and critical arguments in lively discussions are part of the professional specialization in a topical key on ones own accord. Of course, they make use of language knowledge and therefore the teaching material is prepared in two languages. German is the main language.

The student s exchange with its focus on criminal and public law highlights the schedule of the higher classes.

The following Law Faculties have been continuing their co-operation with Humboldt University s Law Faculty up to now:

- the Eötvös Lóránd University (ELTE) Budapest

- the Latvian University of Riga

- the State University Iwane Dshawachischwili of Tblisi.

The extract of the exchange program usually makes up the content of a journal that reports about all contributions and events.
