Basic research towards development of a novel bioproduct with plant growth promoting activity

Abstract

The aim of the project is divided into four workpackages: work package 1: Transposon mutagenesis of PGPR Bacillus subtilis strain B9601-Y2 with mini transposon Tn10(pIC333), work package 2: Transposon mutagenesis of PGPR Bacillus amyloliquefaciens FZB42 with the mariner transposon TnYLB-1(pMarA,B), work package 3: Analysis of the transposon insertions by Southern blot analysis and screening for auxotrophic mutations, work package 4: Development of an efficient strategy to sequence chromosomal insertions, work package 5: Development and application of a screening procedure permitting identification of transposants with altered plant growth promoting properties, work package 6: Development and application of a screening procedure permitting identification of transposants with altered antifungal and antibacterial properties.
