DissOnline Tutor has 3 basic goals:

1) to improve the technical quality of long term archiveable dissertations,

2) to improve the long term accessibility to digital dissertations, and

3) to develop and promote tools for authors and institutions to produce digital dissertations and check the technical quality.

In order to reach those goals the project develops specific tools for LaTeX and PDFchecking tools and it will produce interactive online support systems for authors. DissOnline Tutor is a cooperation between the University of Duisburg Essen (Faculty for Mathematics), the German National Library and the Computer and Media Services of Humboldt-University Berlin.
