Scattering processes in quantum dots as the main reason causing the destruction of the coherence
The object of our studies was to determine the processes that are responsible for the destruction of the coherence of optical excitons in zero dimensional semiconductor structures. CdSe/ZnSe quantum dots, tailor-made by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE), have been observed for this purpose. In preliminary investigations we detected by using the magneto-optical spectroscopy the ground-state fine-structure transitions as a result of the electron-hole exchange interaction. Optical measurements of single quantum dots enabled the deduction of the excitation spectra.
