Edition des Apokalypsenkommentars Joachims von Fiore VI
In the 12th century, medieval theology turned towards apocalypticism and the eschatological future. Part of this movement was Joachim of Fiore, who lived and worked in the Norman-Sicilian Kingdom and under the Staufian Emperors. He developed a trinitarian scheme of history, according to which after the era of the Father and the Son, an era of the Holy Spirit was to be expected. Its aim was an eschatological renaissance and renewal of the christian society, but it was none the less focused on monastic spirituality and contemplation. With the present project his work, never edited since 1527, will now for the first time be presented in a modern critical edition.
