Development of measurement methods and intelligent algorithms to detect morphological changes

With the new system, external damage should be automatically detected on rental vehicles and compared with the former state of the vehicle. For customers, this means less waiting and the certainty that there are no subsequent claims. In contrast to known solutions, the vehicle may be dirty, and texture changes are detected on the entire vehicle. The result is an effective solution for surveying and 3D acquisition, especially the for reflective surfaces and complex shapes. The fusion of several 3D sensors enables the detection of larger objects. Using the automatic 3D stitching the overall shape is determined. An inertial system permits - along with the position determination - the free passing of the measuring object. Special algorithms for object synthesis from video streams allow the acquisition of vehicles with higher accuracy than single shots.
