CRC 649/3: Application of Probabilistic Forecasting to Load Management (SP T04)

The increasing amount of renewable energy production in the German electricity market poses new challenges to market participants. In this transfer project we aim at generating probabilistic forecasts of electricity load of industrial consumers and assess their benefit for demand-side-management. This can help companies to cope with the new market environment and to improve system stability. Together with ÖKOTEC Energiemanagement GmbH we want to adopt the methods developed within the CRC 649 “Economic Risk” to real consumer data. This requires flexible modelling techniques. Potential time-varying behaviour will be address using localizing methods. Results will be evaluated and visualized and their applicability to practice will be tested.
