Potential Impact and Costs of reducing Greeenhouse gas emissions in Agricultural Management (Graduate school)

This project will investigate the long term effects of agricultural soil management on soil organic carbon stocks. Various soil management factors such as crop rotation, tillage, fertilization, and irrigation will be studied on the basis of data from long term field experiments. The project will model the effects of factor intensities on soil organic carbon dynamics. This will form the basis for comparing management options with regard to the potential reduction of greenhouse gases and respective costs.
