Potential Impact and Costs of Reducing Greeenhouse Gas Emissions in Agriculture

The project focuses on policy instruments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in agriculture. Various policy options are discussed: Interventions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions at the farm level, incentives to use climate smart technologies as well as self-organisation activities in agriculture. The impact of policy instruments is analysed with the farm modelling framework FARMIS based on data from Germany. The project is part of a joint research program and graduate college of the Leibniz-Institut für Agrartechnik Potsdam and the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
