HU Institutional Strategy: The urban Trickster (Funding Line Creating Opportunities)

The monography focuses on the reinterpretation of the trickster as a hybrid of divine being and jester in antique, medieval and early modern texts. In the context of urban life practices, the borderline between human knowledge and religion becomes obvious. The study accesses findings of different disciplines about the cultural status of the trickster and develops the specific form of “the urban trickster” from detailed reading of selected texts.
