From Cells to Processes: Advances and Challenges in Single Cell Biology

Single cell methods, from sequencing approaches to microscopy, mark a new frontier in biology in which the aggregate behaviours of complex, heterogeneous biological systems can be analysed at the level of their constituent parts. Insights from these methods presage advances both in basic biology and applied clinical sciences. However, improvements in analytical and experimental methods are required to take full advantage of single-cell approaches. The symposium aims to bring researchers curious about single cell approaches together with external speakers presenting advanced single cell research, including computational and analytical approaches, to highlight the developing single cell capabilities available in Berlin and to act as a platform for the catalysis of new research programs.
