EU: COproductioN with NaturE for City Transitioning, INnovation and Governance (CONNECTING Nature)


Connecting Nature ist ein fünfjähriges Projekt (Projektstart Juni 2017) der europäischen Kommission im Rahmen des Aktionsprogramms Horizont 2020. Das Ziel bis zum Projektende ist es, Europa als globalen Marktführer bei der Innovation und Umsetzung naturbasierter Lösungen zu positionieren unter dem Motto: „to innovate with nature to build climate resilience in cities“.
Die meisten Innovationen treten in Städten auf, aber Städte sind auch die Orte, wo die meisten der heutigen großen und dringenden Herausforderungen auftreten. Unter anderem sind es solche Herausforderungen wie rascher Klima- und Umweltwandel, komplexe Wasser- und Abfallbewirtschaftung, Gesundheitsbelastungen, Veränderungen des sozialen Zusammenhalts sowie Migration und Integration. Naturbasierte Lösungen können einen Einstieg in die Bewältigung dieser Herausforderungen bieten.
Connecting Nature hat diese Herausforderungen aufgenommen und wird Ansätze mit multidisziplinären Methoden erarbeiten und testen. Dabei werden naturbasierte Lösungen gemeinsam entwickelt (co-development) und erstellt (co-design), die zur gemeinsamen Schaffung (co-creation) resilienter, grüner, gesünderer Städte führen und zu einem nachhaltigeren Leben in einer Stadt (Bürgergerechte Stadt) führen.
