Workshop series "Young Forum for Collection and Object Research"

The workshop series "Young Forum for Collection and Object Research" is aiming at doctoral students from all disciplines who work with material objects and collections. It is organized by the Koordinierungsstelle für wissenschaftliche Universitätssammlungen in Deutschland together with the Gesellschaft für Universitätssammlungen e.V. and the Universities of Dresden, Göttingen, Halle and Tübingen. Research questions, methods and results are presented and discussed with other young researchers and invited experts during the workshops. The workshops are supposed to create a platform for young scholars to network with each other across disciplines and to reflect on questions of object-based research, especially in academic collections. The central aim is to encourage young scholars to work with objects and object holdings, to acquire object competence and to learn to think in interdisciplinary projects.
