Prof. Dr. Martin Reinhart

Martin Reinhart is director of the Robert K. Merton Center for Science Studies and, since 2021, Professor of Science Studies at the School for Library and Information Science. He studied Sociology, Economics, and Computer Science at the University of Basel, where he earned a doctorate in the Science Studies Programme in 2012 on the topic of peer review in science. He worked at the universities of Basel, Lucerne and ETH Zürich before coming to Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in 2012. His research focus lies in evaluation practices in science, in the relationship of science and society, in transfer and translation of scientific knowledge, and in questions on research quality.
