Direkte Optische Überwachung der Lokalisation und Aktivität Hochselektiver Photosensibilisatoren für die Photodynamische Tumortherapie in vivo

Subject of the planned work is the optical, time-resolved detection of singlet oxygen phosphorescence, the extremely weak emission of the central protagonist of photodynamic tumor therapy (PDT). Three subtasks are to be solved within the project.
1. to build and test for the first time worldwide a functional model (proof of concept) for a measuring device suitable for small series production for direct real-time monitoring of the effect of photodynamic treatment in near-surface tumours.
2. to investigate the extent to which PDT treatment leads to anoxia (complete oxygen depletion)
3. selected HPMA-dye conjugates shall be optimised with respect to size and loading
